Topic: Historical Data GMT Time
I've been programing EA's for some time in MetaTrader MQL4 but am just getting started with Strategy Builder. It looks like a very useful tool but I have a question about the historical data:
There is a warning on the SB Data Download page that your local time should math the the data server GMT time of +2 to avoid errors. My question is why does the local time make any difference in backtesting since the broker's server could be far removed from his actual business address. My broker's address is on the US east coast but his server is in the GMT + 2 timezone.
From the SB Data Checks, it looks like my broker's MetaTrader data has quite a few gaps and errors. I wonder if I wouldn't be better off with the SB's data. Any comments will be appreciated.
