Topic: I980x Six core 5GHZ . high CPU usage forexsb

I know forexsb is heavy on the system during tests, but it does not seem normal on a 5GHZ six core I7 the CPU usage is @75-80%? Never had anything before eating so much resources , is there an optimization config we can use to reduce the stress on a system cores?

Try to think how to combine what you have.
Try with 1-2 indicators only and one exit.
Then try to make everything better.
Simple

Reduce the number of threads the Generator uses.
If you start one Generator on one thread, it will use minimum resources.

Re: I980x Six core 5GHZ . high CPU usage forexsb

What is the reason the software leech so much CPU power? Spiking a 5GHZ six core is quite extreme.
I know it does a lot of calculation but surely there must be way to better optimise and reduce CPU usage.
Is it correctly using all cores properly? Is there perhaps a CPU leak?

Seem for optimal set up and results you need to dedicate a whole system when using the generator.

Im tempted to test it on a  Xeon processor.

Probably you run several generators and set several parallel threads for each of them.

Many times, many users and from many years requested FSB to use the full available power. Now it does it. And what happens? Now we have questions like this.

See this request: http://forexsb.com/forum/post/18447/#p18447

The Generator uses as much resources as you allow it to use.  If you switch it off, it will not use any.

Lets return to your question:

Is it correctly using all cores properly? Yes, it is.
Is there perhaps a CPU leak? No, there is no CPU leak.

Other notes:
FSB provides the world's first strategy generator.
FSB provides the only world's real time backtester.
FSB provides the world's fastest strategy tester.
FSB is 1000 times faster than MT without using 1000 times more resources.
FSB is capable to generate strategies on any desktop hardware manufactured in the last 10 years.
FSB can use less resources:

FSB can use more resources:

If you want to reduce the resources used, set less parallel threads in the generator settings:

Re: I980x Six core 5GHZ . high CPU usage forexsb

I do not disagree it was a fantastic idea and it was excellent it was implemented. I was not aware of the full available power.

Just remember i am new with this software hence the questions and i did not see the post you mentionned below.

I have a Xeon server system with IntelXeon Processor E5-2697 12 cores which i use for lab work, hence the information below i can dedicate the server purely for calculation.

Thank you for the clear answer.
