Re: KEEP it SIMPLE STUPID
Looks simple and efficient.
What about the entry time indicator - are these values optimized or based on specific entry time logic ?
Re: KEEP it SIMPLE STUPID
Entry times are logic because the price is more stable and moves better between the bb bands. we would not trade if there was a major news release between these time.
Re: KEEP it SIMPLE STUPID
I do have a profitable system but im having trouble using logic to get it to work
All i want is for a trade to open up long or short based on one indicator at a specific time ie:2300hrs at the open bar
closing would be 40pips profit or 40 pips loss
the indicator is a non lag MA which of course i cant use on FTB and will have to find something else but i would like help with the basic set up
Re: KEEP it SIMPLE STUPID
Do you mean this indicator: http://forexsb.com/forum/topic/1566/best-ma-indicator/
Maybe it's possible to develope extended version on the strategy with other indicators. It seems that uou are using a momentum type strategy.
Do I understand correctly that the strategy is using 1:1 profit-loss ratio ?

Re: KEEP it SIMPLE STUPID
Yes at this specific time on one pair the price is usually flowing one way ( even slightly) and usually ends up 40 pips plus average 4/1 times
yes i do mean the mentioned indicator used on 1hr length 20
Re: KEEP it SIMPLE STUPID
Note:
I am running the original strategy thread on a live account and the stop loss take profit may need correcting for 5 digit brokers
Re: KEEP it SIMPLE STUPID
At first your strategy looks very good, but if I made a deeper investigation with 10 year data then it will not look so good. The backtest shows that in a long run this trategy is not profitable. Always use a 5-10 year data to investigate your strategies.
