Topic: Cannot properly import historical data (Maximum number of bars to impo

Hello,

I'm new to FSB and im having trouble importing proper data.

I cannot import more than 100000 bars into FSB,

I did change the Data Horizon, as you can see.

But I cannot change the maximum number of bars to a higher level, as you can see here:

And why are my data statistics and intrabar stats empty?

Lagoons, what message you receive when click "Import". Is it possible to have less than 100 000 bars in the MT4 HST files?

Hello Popov, I'll check this asap and let you know.

Re: Cannot properly import historical data (Maximum number of bars to impo

Hello,

I've tried now importing HST files (from Tickstory) cause the csv files weren't working.
Unfortunately it is still cutting after 1M bars as you can see in the screenshot i modified all DataSource_ files in the Forex Strategy Builder Pro\User Files\System directory, but it seems to have no impact on the HST import.
And I cannot increase the Maximum number of bars to import in the MT4 History Data Import is there anything I could change that?

Re: Cannot properly import historical data (Maximum number of bars to impo

I think TickStory can export data in FSB bar format. Please check.

Hello,

so I've exported the csv files via tickstory in FSB format.

Copied them into the outout folder

Re: Cannot properly import historical data (Maximum number of bars to impo

But somehow FSB only finds the D1 files

And when I backtest I'll get lots of ambigious bars.

What do I do wrong and how do I'll get the tick data into FSB?
It is quite frustrating, I dont get forward.

Re: Cannot properly import historical data (Maximum number of bars to impo

Do you see an error message when you try loading some of other files?

Please open a file in an editor and check the bar open time. Sometimes it is wrong. for example, the H4 bars open at 03:00, 07:00 ...

Re: Cannot properly import historical data (Maximum number of bars to impo

The Tick data may not bring you better backtest because FSB Pro is specially designed to work with Bar Data.

It is normal to see all bars ambiguous when the strategy has no entry rules. It sounds as to allow it to trade Long as well as Short at the same time. We don't want to spend your money for spread at every bar, right!

Hello Popov, the other data seems to come trough now, I had to select timerame in the strategy first, somehow.

The D1 Data Statistics of D1 showed below Loading Output "Data Check completed".

The M1 Data has some wrong volume how bad is this?

Re: Cannot properly import historical data (Maximum number of bars to impo

It is not a problem if you don't use Volume indicators. The Volume is not generally reliable.

See this example:

For sure the higher volume is not a result of normal trading.

Re: Cannot properly import historical data (Maximum number of bars to impo

Hello Popov okay great, and the M1 has lots of bars so it should be fine.

For now I have two questions left:

1. Why is my are my intrabar stats empty? Is this normal?
https://s15.postimg.cc/xliabz49z/Intrabar_Stats.png

2. You said it its the best to use data directly from the broker you want to use for trading.
I can understand why.
Unfortunately my broker (like many others) doesn't offer so much data so I'd like to now if its possible
to collect this data with FSB over time.

For example I'd export every week the brokers's data to FSB and the database would get bigger and bigger over time,
is this possible?

Cause I'm afraid that FSB will just overwrite the datafiles or cut after 100.000 bars.

Is there a way to achieve properly?

And thanks for your great support, you are helping me a lot.

Best regards

Re: Cannot properly import historical data (Maximum number of bars to impo

You can switch the Intrabar data usage from the control Panel, if you want.

Please read the User Guide. I spent months of writing it and it is free: Intrabas Stats

Your MT will collect data with the time. If the TiskStory data shows similar results in your MT Tester, you can use it.

Okay, but how would I'll be able to import more than 100.000 bars from broker (as HST Files).

Would the MT4's own export as ASCII Text (.csv) function work for FSB?
