Topic: Multi Market

Dear traders,

I'm proud to announce a new release of EA Studio. The major new feature this time is a Multi Market tool.

This version fixes several issues with the strategy Collection and the Editor.

Trade Safe!

Re: Multi Market

Minor update uploaded - the Collection's Refresh button becomes green when there is a new strategy generated in it corresponds to the current criteria.

When you click the button, the app refreshes the Top 10 strategies and the button becomes gray again.

Re: Multi Market

Excellent.. time for exploration..

do or do not there is no try

Re: Multi Market

Hi Popov,

I have used the Reactor and selected 'Multi-Markets' to 3 (EU, UJ, EJ).

I got 69 ascended into my collection.

I then used the 'Validation' and selected 'Multi-Markets' (Option 4-6 unchecked) but out of the 69, only got 1 passed the test and went into collection.

Any reason why?

Re: Multi Market

Thank you for the report!

Is it was the same Collection?

There is no reason for that. Internally The Reactor and the Validator are one sub program. The only difference is that the Reactor generates strategies but the Validator uses a strategy preset. They even share the same settings.

I'll make testes to try to reproduce the problem.

How do I test:

1. Clear the Collection
2. Set the Reactor time frame and Multi Market
3. Run the Reactor to create and push 69 strategies to the Collection
4. From the Collection page download the Collection or a Portfolio Expert.
5. Clear the Collection again.
6. Switch to Validator and drag/drop the previously exported collection (or Portfolio Expert)
7. Run the Validator
8. Exactly 69 strategies are pushed in the Collection

It appears it works as it is expected.

There is probably another reason for the behavior you have noticed. It can be different collection, different or newer data or different settings (Data Horizon, Trading Session ....)

Re: Multi Market

I might have changed some setting unknowingly along the way. Thanks for the clarification.

Re: Multi Market

A rather serious issue has cropped up, MM validation is 100% across the board, which just can't be. It is validating unprofitable strats.

Re: Multi Market

Please make a screenshot of the Multi Market settings.

Edit:

I just found out that the Settings reset deletes all Multi Market criteria instead of re-setting them. I'll fix it now.

I haven't touched settings, but the last days I have to set up generator settings, data horizon etc all from scratch every time I open the app, seems it can't save the settings anymore, maybe it's related.

Re: Multi Market

I just fixed the Multi Market settings reset.

However, I noticed the same thing. Probably when I upload new version of the app, it resets the settings.
It must not be like that. I'll see how I can fix it.

You may also try the new Settings Export / Import.

Later I'll add saving the app settings on the cloud.

Re: Multi Market

How long does it take for the fix to set in? Currently it still validates every generated strat in the reactor and MM tool.

I did reload (F5) the app.

Re: Multi Market

There is a Validation tab in the Multi Market page.

Click it and you will see the validation criteria for the Multi Market.

My point is strats, which do not pass multimarket test in the reactor, are validated. The MM tool shows on my screenshot that those should not be validated as they fail to produce profit on all selected markets. 2 days ago everything worked fine, I think my yesterday's generation in the reactor is invalid also. It is not normal to get more than a thousand generated strats in 10 minutes, which pass 6,7,8 different markets/currency pairs profitably. My screenshots show that those collected strats are not passing multimarket test, hence the MM validation in the reactor is not working. Sorry for not being more clearer earlier.

Re: Multi Market

Reactor and MM tool.

Until day before yesterday multimarket validation in the reactor validated strats, which were profitable on selected pairs, right? Currently every strat, which comes out of the generator gets validated in reactor's MM, even though they are not profitable on all selected pairs.

Re: Multi Market

There is no hard coded rule that Multi Market validates only strategies on profit.

In order to do it, we have to set "Minimum Net Profit" to 0 or more.

Re: Multi Market

yeah, yeah, it deleted my previous settings, that's the problem. Of course, sorry for troubling, my bad.

Re: Multi Market

I'm not sure why the settings are deleted some times.

If you see the yellow bar "You agree with the Legal....", it means that the settings were zeroed.

It looks like a good practice to export and save our settings for any case.

Re: Multi Market

Well, I just checked with my 2 browsers - one has settings saved, the other is zeroed. Good practice indeed! Will do.
