Re: simulator does match actual traded on demo

Sometimes the delay in execution causes a trade to be missed.....  demo on your computer and demo at the broker may not be the same.  The data we have may have flaws...

You may have to research this carefully to be sure data is constant.

My 'secret' goal is to push EA Studio until I can net 3000 pips per day....

is that becasue FSB pro still alpha? would FST (not pro) be better?

Re: simulator does match actual traded on demo

Export what you have in your MT4 - demo.
Export what you have in FSB.
Compare values.
Compare times.
Is there any diff?

Re: simulator does match actual traded on demo

You have to be more precise, only one screenshot is not enough, where's the trader screenshot? What is the strategy?

Re: simulator does match actual traded on demo

Thank you, this is a lot better!

Strat seems correct.

Well, about trader, shots about where and how it goes wrong. Trade details like you have for FSB above, then the actual bar data where one opens a trade and the other doesn't (is signal matching or not). I've experienced that if the test ends for the day, it is better to not close the trader straight away. Firstly update backtester's data, check the trade results. If there's something wrong, check the trader and corresponding bars.

What are log files saying, any errors? How many entry orders sent?

If the essential stuff checks out, it is a bit hard to diagnose the problem, it might be related to your broker as well. There's a possibility that Pro version has a bug, it's alpha after all. On the orher hand, Pro and FST are very similar...

If you have the option to run both FST and Pro, then do it.

Re: simulator does match actual traded on demo

Broker data could be the problem......  as could latency....  was the market busy at the time,  did metatrader  record any error for this entry  was there a connection issue at the time.

Somehow we need to develop a detailed list of things we need to analyze discrepancies or errors so that when someone has a difficulty they can submit a complete package.

My 'secret' goal is to push EA Studio until I can net 3000 pips per day....
