Topic: Next too perfect strategy - what is wrong in it?

Hi all!

I am quite new on this forum, this is my first post here. I found this software last week and it is so nice, i cannot stop playing with it smile

But when it's strategy generator finds a strategy which draws a straight balance graph like this, i always start to search the failure, because i think it must be there. I know this one fails, but i cannot find why.

Re: Next too perfect strategy - what is wrong in it?

Hey,

Attachments won't work, sorry for that. But instead of copying the xml, use Publish Strategy feature in FSB, new window appears, copy and paste its contents, then it is nice and tidy and easy to read.

You say too nice strat which doesn't work because of too smooth equity curve? And then you say the problem lies in not using previous bar value (PBV), for this reason my question - did you turn PBV automatic usage control off?

If I look at your strat, there's nothing wrong! Where did you get the idea the problem might be PBV?

Re: Next too perfect strategy - what is wrong in it?

Do you say it is normal and this strategy should work?

Thanks for answers!

Re: Next too perfect strategy - what is wrong in it?

Thanks for the screenshot, clears things up!

As I see it, you had automatic PBV usage control turned off! It is better to be turned on, then similar mistakes can't happen. See the screenshot, if PBV usage is automatic, you can't manually set PBV in the indicator window!

I overlooked weighted base price in the price move indi yesterday, that's why I thought everything is ok.

You are correct, PBV must be used, otherwise you get unreliable results which can't be possible in live trading, though doesn't that equity curve look nice tongue
