Topic: Issue with the Search Function - Filtering Results

I wasn't sure where exactly to post this topic, so if it's not in the right place, I kindly ask the moderators to move it to the appropriate section.

I am experiencing an issue with the search function on the forum. When I search for specific topics, such as "correlation analysis," the results return over 10 pages with various threads that are not relevant to my query. This is because many threads focus on general topics like Market Analysis, which contain extensive texts that are not useful for my search.

For example, I am looking for detailed information on how the "correlation analysis" function works, but instead, I receive pages of market analysis discussions from the past. This makes the search function almost ineffective.

Would it be possible to optimize the search function to allow filtering by specific sections of the forum? For instance, being able to search exclusively within the "Expert Advisor Studio" area would help narrow down the results significantly.

Thank you for considering this improvement.

Hello Mentosan,

Yes, you are correct.

The posts in the "market analysis" sections catch a lot of search terms.

I may delete it at all.
I don't see any value for the traders in this forum.

Re: Issue with the Search Function - Filtering Results

I just deleted all the "analysis" posts.

Now searching "correlation" works smile

Use Advanced search! You can narrow it down to forum subsections or even to authors, very handy!

I'm not so sure it is a good idea, because those posters will come back and then they will start posting their analysis to the proper forum sections. It's inevitable that these kind of analysis or marketing posts are going to appear, so it is better to have a small bin section (as I tend to call it, which can be regularly cleaned out like once a year) for those posters to channel their urges and that way the whole forum stays cleaner and is of lower maintenance.

You may be right. Let's see if we can maintain the forum clean like that.
