Topic: Difference between repository and Strategy

I have a big difference between the synthetic data and the graph shown in the list of Repository strategies and each strategy when I open it individually in a panel.

Even changing list, deleting all sytrategie, making new lists.
The right menu of the repository correctly shows the indicators, the chart wrong bit, summary data have some data wrong.

What can I do to have a correct view of the repository?

Thank you

Re: Difference between repository and Strategy

Hello Freesby,

The strategy in the editor is calculated with newer data. You can see the data range in the collection below the chart.

It seems that the strategy was calculated with data up to the blue arrow before.

Ok, thanks Popov,
but still I do not understand how to have the repository information and correct calculations.

Re: Difference between repository and Strategy

There is no such thing as incorrect calculation in FSB.

Think for the repository as a folder with saved strategies with stats and charts from the calculation at the moment of saving.

Later you can update the data files in FSB Pro and if you open a strategy from the collection, it will be recalculated with the newer data. It almost sure that it will receive a different result. It is because the calculation is done with a newer data.

The only way to receive the same result is to set the data range in Data Horizon and to load the Strategy in the Editor.

If think this is strange, I'll give you another example.

Lets visit your favorite weather forecasting website and set your city. Lets make and save a screenshot.
Two weeks later you can visit the same website and to set the same city. Do you expect to see the same screen as the one you already saved? You will see the updated weather and both, the current and the current and the one you have saved will be correct. They just show different point of time.

Re: Difference between repository and Strategy

I understand what you mean,
I will take it for whenever you be downloading new historical data.

I will not make a mistake FSB, could also be a setting I do not know.

I do not think it's like you're saying:
1) a site with the weather (but also news) update the information,
2) I have not changed the historical data (I have not downloaded new data) are always the same, certainly I did not change the data of the last two years (I did not change basic data is always the default one provided by the system)

Now, I deleted all startegie in the repository, I launched the generation of a new strategy.
So should I open a strategy from the repository and see it with the same data in both windows.
It is not what happens.

Re: Difference between repository and Strategy

You use 40% OOS in the Generator.
With that setting, the generator loads only the first 60% of the data series. Correspondingly, the strategy in the collection shows the stats and charts based on 60% of the data file.

When you click a strategy and load it in the Editor, you see the stats and chart based on the full data file.

You may try the following:

A) Remove the OOS setting, if you want the strategy collection to be calculated on the full data file.

B) Use the Multi Tester to recalculate the complete collection with the full file. To do it:
        1. Save the generated collection;
        2. Go to the Multi Tester;
        3. Recalculate the collection.
Now you will have a new collection with the same strategies, but calculated against the full data file.

C) Instead of OOS, reduce the data range in Control Panel -> Data Horizon and generate strategies with out OOS. The effect will be the same, but the stats in the collection and on the Editor will match. Later, you can remove the limitations in Data Horizon.

Thanks Popov,
you are great

Re: Difference between repository and Strategy

The Strategy Collection calculates the currently selected strategy against the full data series.
You can see the balance chart and stats at the right side.

You can see on my screenshot a strategy with OOS at the central column and the full data calculation at the right hand side.
