Topic: Stop Loss

I have my take profit set to 40 and from what I can see it is being entered on the wrong side.

Would you have a look at this and perhaps tell me what I am doing wrong..

Thanks

Re: Stop Loss

Has it happened before? Nevertheless this is alarming. First of all, was your TP set at 40 or 400? The strategy itself would help greatly finding out what's wrong (I realize many consider their strategies as secret as Northern Korea airdefence position locations, so absolute minimum is to state at least the strategy properties and the closing slots set up).

P.S. I once had a similar problem - SL was added out of the blue and I didn't get an answer about what went wrong, luckily it happend only once.

Re: Stop Loss

I will attach a snapshot of the strategy

hopefully that is what you are asking for......

Thanks

Re: Stop Loss

Thanks for the snapshot, exactly what I wanted!

Your TP is set at 40, at the same time your broker uses 3-digit pricing, therefore 40=4 pips! So 400 should be set as TP (and 1000 for SL respectively). Test it with corrected settings, and please report back!

Re: Stop Loss

One other thing - was a position opened before the anomaly occurred?

Re: Stop Loss

The amount should be ok as the digits are  functioning ok at 60...... My tp works at 100

I have it running now and changed the setting to 60 but I want it at a smaller number

There is some sort of glitch in the software, Popov should have a peak at the messages.

Every position had that setting, and all went awry.

I have it running at present and will keep an eye on what happens

Re: Stop Loss

You will notice that on this list are many different prices and that the stop loss did not change with the price changes

I suggest that the FST is not calculating the stop loss price accurately or at least not often enough

Re: Stop Loss

I'm not following you on this one, what does the table represent? Opening prices?

Re: Stop Loss

That is a pic of the trades list, ie when an order is opened it appears there......

I have widened the stop substantially to allow for that.

(and you can know that I do not have enough money so far for the bus trip to the casino......... hehehe)

Re: Stop Loss

I assume you haven't changed the strategy, so there is one very important thing which causes this - it is action taken when "same direction signal" occurs. As it's set to "add", FST considers every opened lot as a part of one single trade, so same conditions apply to each lot in terms of SL/TP. In other words, last opened lot defines SL/TP.

Re: Stop Loss

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... now I understand...

Thanks for clarifying....  that make sense.....

Yes I do use the add  feature......

I am attempting to not change the strategy, although the stop loss has to be modified, I am experimenting with that...

The biggest difficulty I have experienced was bad information in the instrument details...., Now that I have adjusted that, I can be a little more objective with this thing.

Thanks again
