Topic: Is there a way to import data form MT5?

- The data format is completely different in MT5 than MT4
.
The reason I am asking this is because I found that the data files  and charts in MT5 (*.hcc) are impeccable most of the time, While in MT4 (*.hst), it is easier to find big gaps of data due to trader server error.

So if there is a tool for data conversion please let me know.

There are two scripts to input data, one from mt4 and one from mt5. I use data from mt5 and run EA to MT4.

Re: Is there a way to import data form MT5?

Where could I find there scripts?

Re: Is there a way to import data form MT5?

I was able to find the scripts.

Are these scrips for FSB or for EA Studio?

I run the scrips but I was unable to find the folder exported in FSB for further use

For what I read, only logged-in users can have their data files stored in the EA Studio servers and can export Expert Advisors.

Please confirm.

Re: Is there a way to import data form MT5?

it should be in FILES, I think
give to scrtipt a hot Key
open chart and press hot key
then watch production of files for each TF for this chart
THEN next chart etc.

Re: Is there a way to import data form MT5?

Yes, I have run the scrip as you just mentioned in different chats and could not observe a modification of the files under :
C:\Program Files\Forex Strategy Builder Pro\User Files\Data\MetaTraderHST , for example or any other directory.

I also run a search with the *.CSV but could not locate any other files other than the existing ones.

So for now is a mystery where these files are been stored.
Once these issue is resolved then , we will be able to use the data, nor before.

GD is saying Files subfolder in MT installation folder...

Is there:
C:\Users\Maximus\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\36A64B8C79A6163D85E6173B54096685\MQL5\Files
C:\Users\Maximus\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\C142B020C05FAD9EEC4BE1375F709241\MQL4\Files

Great tool.:-)

Re: Is there a way to import data form MT5?

Maximus,

You can find the correct folder of each MT installation by using the "File" -> "Open Data Folder" menu in MetaTrader.

MT saves files only in ".\MQL4\Files" subfolder for security reasons.

...

You can do a little trick to make the file import easier - set the "Data directory" of your Data source to be the "Files" folder of MT. If you do it, FSB Pro will find the files there and you will not need to move them.
