I just realized that there is "Profit" on EA Studio "search best" option
is it simply end balance minus start balance?

The "Profit" is a new option added together with the IS and OOS validation criteria. It was necessary because the "Net Balance" doesn't work for the OOS part.
The Profit is equal to the end Balance minus the start balance for the period.
