Topic: Unsuccessful pings

Popov,

Do you think that such a high rate of 'unsuccessuful pings' are quite normal ?

Thanks.

Re: Unsuccessful pings

It's not normal. It happens when the computer is overloaded (one core processor).

Also some kind of software is able to stop MT-FST communication. For example Garmin nRoute stops the connection for 2 seconds every 5 minutes.

Re: Unsuccessful pings

Popov,

I have a quad-core processor and no such Garmin apps running.

Apparently, it was a transient problem that has just happened this morning.

Here-attached pic shows other 'ping' messages but none looks like those that I had this morning.

Your comments are welcome.

Re: Unsuccessful pings

These are OK.

Forex Strategy Trader uses two methods for updating market conditions:
- Tick. When there is a new tick MT sends an event to FST.
- Ping. When there is no ticks for more then a second, FST sends a ping to MT. Some times this ping finds a new price just arrived and not yet reported via a tick event.

These messages are normal. I'm going to remove them in the next release of FST.
