Topic: Cannot find MT4 History files in input directory!

I am trying to import MT4 HST files, but I receive the above error in the Output log.

The Input directory is C:\input.

The Output directory is C:\output.

FSBPro can browse to both folders and the HST files are definitely in the folder.

What I am doing wrong?

Re: Cannot find MT4 History files in input directory!

Locate the data files in the FSB directory Users files where the original data files are.

Until you get some good amount of experience with the software try to keep it simple.

My 'secret' goal is to push EA Studio until I can net 3000 pips per day....

Re: Cannot find MT4 History files in input directory!

OK, I f I understood correctly I tried to import the files from:

C:\Program Files\Forex Strategy Builder Pro\User Files\Data\FXCM\Import

and

C:\Program Files\Forex Strategy Builder Pro\User Files\Data\FSB Demo Data

Even though the data files have be moved to the above folders I still get the same error message.

The conversion process appears to be straight forward, so I am not sure why this is happening. Is this a limitation of the demo software?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Cannot find MT4 History files in input directory!

The problem is in the file names. They have to by SYMBOL###.hst
where ### is the period in minutes.

Example: EURUSD60.hst for EURUSD 1H file.

Rename the input files correctly and it will work.

Re: Cannot find MT4 History files in input directory!

I was really only interested in the 5 minute chart.

I renamed GER305.hst to DAX5.hst. I refer to the Market as the GER30, which I now see was wrong.

Thanks very much. Really looking forward to trying this software!

Re: Cannot find MT4 History files in input directory!

I'm fixing this naming issue. I hope I'll be able to update FSB Pro this evening.
