Topic: Post Karma Extension Disabled

There is $150 overhead to my hosting for the current month. Stats analysis shows that most probably Post Karma extension is the reason. I temporarily disabled it.
I'll watch the stats and will decide whether to enable it again or uninstall it.

Re: Post Karma Extension Disabled

I hope it doesn't reset to zero when you turn it back on. It's taken me years to get my karma! smile

It's not reset. But if I return it, I may charge 1 usd per karma point smile
The more fancy you are, the more you pay!!

Re: Post Karma Extension Disabled

This buggy User Karma plugin costed me $153 overhead to my hosting traffic for the previous month. For this month the MySQL server load is 10 times !!! lower.
We are back to normal.

Re: Post Karma Extension Disabled

Karma has just become unnecessary..!

My 'secret' goal is to push EA Studio until I can net 3000 pips per day....

Reasonable suggestion! I found the karma thing pointless, to be honest.

Nothing beats old school style:

  • Your post rocks

or

  • Your post is bs

As the saying goes, every new thing is a forgotten old one.

i find karma a very good tool
1- it energize good posters to keep posting smile
2- if is like a vote for a new ideas so if an idea take more karmas it needs to be considered in future updates

Re: Post Karma Extension Disabled

Perhaps when the Pro version is being marketed higher server costs can be absorbed, at this time Popov is underwriting all of the costs personally, if the load gets to be too much he will have to cut back further.

That is why I am proposing the paid indicators and paid custom work and the paid add ons at this time - to support the costs of the server.

My 'secret' goal is to push EA Studio until I can net 3000 pips per day....

Re: Post Karma Extension Disabled

Post Karma was third party addon (not from Pun Teem). It showed unacceptable behaviour and almost crashed the forum and the whole website. It will not be returned.

The good posters are well known for everyone here.

We can make other group ... lets say "Insider" or "Old dog" or "Gold member" or what ever. Moderators will be able to change a user status manually. These groups can be made colourful.
