I'm the one with the green belt.
After practicing many ears (since 1987 with some stops) Kyokushin karate, Judo and TaiChi, I started practicing traditional Shotokan karate 2 years ago.

The boy with the blue belt is my son Dobrin Popov (10). He passed 4th grade at school now. He started practicing Shotokan karate 1 week before me. His computer experience includes mostly gaming and watching videos, but I hope he'll start coding some day.

Re: Popov, Miroslav

Cool. Thanks for sharing.
I did Kung Fu for a few years when I was a teenager.

What is your day job?

Re: Popov, Miroslav

I'm a Chief Engineer Officer of a commercial ship. I'm working several months on board and have several months vacation after that.
That's good because I have more time for coding when I'm on the ship than at home.

Now I'm practicing karate 7-8 times weekly and 3 times weekly Kendo.

The rest of the time I'm working on the computer - thinking on FSB / FST, reading about forex and programming.

Currently trading only for testing different strategies and FST beahviour. Thanks to my very good incomes from the ship work I do not need to trade for living.

My other hobbies besides programming and martial arts are amateur astronomy, reading and watching documentary movies and books, roguelike games.

Re: Popov, Miroslav

nice to here popov, you practice karate while tending to a ships engine and there is always space for forex, Im a computer science graduate that hates programing, work full time for a BPO industry while spending my extra free time on forex.. i trade  not that heavy trading, a cuople of position trades and swinging.. smile

Re: Popov, Miroslav

I and my son spent a weak in the mountain at 2300m. It was very refreshing and inspiring journey. We were at the famous 7th Rila lakes - the gathering point of the White Brotherhood where Peter Deunov - The Teacher has read his lectures.

and I render homage to the Master
Petar Deunov from Bulgaria."

Re: Popov, Miroslav

Don't know about you, but I'm having trouble getting my arms about this new information. Am I to understand that Master Popov is human?

Re: Popov, Miroslav

Man, awesome photos and informative thread.  Glad to get to know more about the guy who puts so much work into this!  Much respect!

Re: Popov, Miroslav

I'm now on BG national Kendo championship. This is my first Kendo competition so far. I'm losing this two fights, but I played well for my beginner level. My first opponent was the guy who became the national champion.

I'm the one on the right side with a white strip on my back.

How are you holding up there, Miro?

Re: Popov, Miroslav

Hello Footon,

During the rain I and my wife were on a Tai-Chi practice on the center of the city. When we finished and go down to the basement car parking we heard a strange noise of streaming water. The parking was flooded with 20 cm of water. When we go out with my car we saw the streets like rivers with streaming water. There were stones, bricks and debris pushed by the water. Fortunately we are leaving on a more elevated place. We choose a route via bigger and more open streets to go home. There was water to the middle of the car on some places. Slowly and carefully we reached our home. There were many failed vehicles on the rout.

When we arrived, I left my wife home and went to my Karate practice on food. I arrived with one hour delay and completely whet.

It’s said there are only three reasons to miss a training practice:
- You are dead;
- You were ill and have died;
- You were murdered;

Very bad for the relatives of the  perished people. It was really dangerous on some places.
I have never seen such a rain before, even in Brazil (working there three years).
Now everything is normal except the craters on the streets.

Re: Popov, Miroslav

Hello nerds,

if you are like me, working 25 hours a day on a computer (because I'm getting up one our earlier),
you'll definitely find this little and freeware tool useful: F.Lux https://justgetflux.com/

It changes the display color temperature depending on the time day.

It can be set for your exact location, day and night color temperature and also how fats to change them.

You got only a diploma? And, most importantly, where are the pics which show the other guy pushing back? wink

Re: Popov, Miroslav

Footon.......

The other guys did not push back, they were dropped with the first move.......  hehe

My 'secret' goal is to push EA Studio until I can net 3000 pips per day....

Re: Popov, Miroslav

Dear Mr Popov
  a few days ago you added an option to FSB Pro:
       Exportation as EA.
I remember that I emailed you about two years ago
and asked you about it and you answered me that
FST is necessary for a generated strategy to run.
Suddenly a few days ago you managed to make it true.

There is a book about inspiration:

THE EUREKA EFFECT - THE ART AND LOGIC OF BREAKTHROUGH THINKING
Author : DAVID PERKINS

Also there are two classic mathematical books with titles:

HOW TO SOLVE IT
A new aspect of mathematical method.
Author: George Polya

and

THE MATHEMATICAL EXPERIENCE
Authors: Philip J. Davis
              Reuben Hersh

Also for your son (and you) I would suggest the past papers of a
mathematical competition which is called "kangaroo sans frontieres".
This competition has only winners and it is for everybody wants
to feel the enjoyment of mathematics.

Personally I like solving puzzles but also I create puzzles for
my students and of course for my children.

Also I believe that one of the most enjoying and exciting puzzle
of all around the world is FOREX.

        Kind Regards
           Mathimatikos

Re: Popov, Miroslav

Thank you,
I'll definitely read the books.

However, I haven't lied you. FST is still needed, but the breakthrough is that I realized I can push it all in an expert smile.

Actually I rewrote the whole  trader code in MQL together with the all integrated indicators and FSB Pro arranges them in a single expert file including the strategy you export. The only eliminated component is the bridge dll. The new system works flawlessly, using much less resources and in the exactly same way as the previous combination of FST - Bridge -Expert. Even if we find some minor issues, we'll fix them in minutes.

I was always thinking that exporting an expert is impossible because I had an ordinary expert in mind. Now what we have is fully functional expert but it doesn't look inside as a standard MT expert at all. It is much more sophisticated and provides the full functionality of FSB Pro - multi-period and multi-currency indicators, signal shift and signal repeats, logical groups, "Use previous bar value", protections, Martingale... I think it will become the primary way of trading.

Re: Popov, Miroslav

The progress is a row of gaps and not continuous line of small changes.
For example the LP, the tape, the cd, the memory stick are such gaps.
So somebody must start thinking from a completely different starting point each time.
The aim is not only minor improvements. The aim is the gap.

Re: Popov, Miroslav

I messed up with a programming language named  BrainFuck : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brainfuck

It has only 8 commands: <>+-.,[]
By using these commands a "mad" programmer can write all programs in the world.

I made some simple tests:

This one prints 0

++[>++[>++[>++[>+++<-]<-]<-]<-]>>>>.

This takes two digits from an input, sums them and prints out the result

,>++++++++[<------>-],[<+>-]<.

Do you know what this one does?

++++++++++[>+++++++<-]>.>+++[<++++>-]<+.>++++[<---->-]<-.>>>+++++[>++++++<-]>++.<<<+++[<++++>-]<++.>++++++[<++++++>-]<--.---.
