Topic: Strength Of Trendlines

Hi,

Can a pro who has been using trendline’s tell me of their experience when usually they are broken or when best to buy or sell off a bounce or when they break? After trading for 1 year I find it breaks usually on the 4th or 5th bounce more on the 5th bounce break and the odd occasion 3rd while the 2nd bounce is the strongest.

Thanks.

Re: Strength Of Trendlines

This is hard to make a rule for........ some traders wait for the third 'knock' for entry, others watch two time frames to get an idea as to price action on the lower for entry

Re: Strength Of Trendlines

I think it is always better to trade the bounce than the brekout. There is one idea that trend lines become stronger with every other bounce. Once you lose the bounce you can always reverse and win back the loss because breakout would be usually very strong.

The best answer may be for you to keep statistics for a while and then you can base your decisions on your own observations. Each of us will draw trend lines in a certain manner, therefore what works for me may not work for you.
