Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

I've imported my csv file to excel.I got some options but still the result is far from what we are looking for.
I can download the FXCM data under csv, MT4,ninjatrader files. Do you know if there is one of them which is easier to use with FSB ?
Is there someone using FXCM downloader here ?
Thanks for your help !!

Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

1)I've deleted all the data into the forexbuilder data folder.

2)I've downloaded the FXCM data and pasted them into C:\programs\FSB\data
(by the way, popov was right, you don't need any Macro, just change your regionals settings AND download the datas again or it won't change anything !)

3) I got 3 errors : could not count the data bars, error in the data files, FSB is going to load integrated data

4)FSB succeed to load my strategy and when I choose load data from 2009 to 2010, FSB does load the data where it should not if it was not able to read my datas.(no such older datas by default)

5) I've re installed FSB again to see how looks like the default format file (please see the pic)

6)Can we conclude that FSB load my data even if there's some errors at the beginning or do I have now to change my data for the default format file.

Thanks again for your help,

Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

Perhaps FSB just want to say that it's impossible to load AUDUSD, USD CHF etc.
But does read EURUSD, no ?

Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

Hmm, I had not a single problem with the data, no errors, nothing. Data seems to be good quality. I don't know what might give the errors.

Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

Waoow...?!?!

I'll try your strat, in the meantime if you open MT and save the data right from the chart, is it still all errors?

Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

Hmm, your strat file doesn't load up, gives errors... Really weird stuff going on.

Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

The funny thing would be if we got the same results !

Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

I loaded the strategy correctly with the default FSB data.

EURUSD 1D data attached above didn't work at first. I noticed that the time of bars is 22:00 or 23:00. I changed time to 00:00 and it was OK.

4 hours data is shown below:

01/02/2009,07:00:00,1.38646,1.3969,1.38397,1.39475,7832
01/02/2009,11:00:00,1.39475,1.39584,1.3857,1.38882,12757
01/02/2009,15:00:00,1.38882,1.39865,1.38799,1.38876,12194
01/02/2009,19:00:00,1.38876,1.39045,1.384,1.38505,4299
01/04/2009,23:00:00,1.38505,1.39629,1.38505,1.3928,5025

See the times. 07.00, 11.00....
It must be 08:00, 12:00 ...

Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

Thanks Popov,is this how the data must look like ?
Here s the 4hrs and the Daily chart. Personnaly, I still got the same errors..

Actually, FSB succeed to load my strategy and when I choose load data from 2009 to 2010, FSB does load the data where it should not if it was not able to read my datas.(no such older datas by default), can we conclude that all in all FSB load my data even if there's some errors at the beginning.

Thanks again,

Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

Daily data has some time: 23:00:00. FSB loads them well after correction the time  to 00:00:00.

Some 4 hour data bars also have incorrect time. FSB loads only the correct bars.

Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

Oookay, Now I understand.
Is there a link to know how each time frame have to be ? Is there a way to easily convert all those files ?

Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

Here have some info: Historical Forex Rates

I'm using the freeware Notepad++ 99% of the time when converting or repairing data files.

For example if decimal point and column separator are both comma:

01/02/2009,00:00:00,1,39383,1,39865,1,38397,1,38505,38589
01/05/2009,00:00:00,1,38505,1,39629,1,35464,1,36342,67613
01/06/2009,00:00:00,1,36342,1,36595,1,33122,1,35352,79820
01/07/2009,00:00:00,1,35352,1,37473,1,3431,1,36437,80013

I can replace 1, with 1.

Re: Importing FXCM Strategy Trader Data

Thanks Popov !!!
No mistakes anymore since I've chhanged each 23: by 00: etc...

But isn't it a problem not to have the same hour candle ? I mean the 00h candle for FSB is actually the 23h for my broker. As ssoon as I don't generate a strategy with day opening, it's okay but what would happen if I load a strategy based on hour candle.
Thanks again,

Mickael

I don't think so, but better ask your broker why the day starts at 23:00.
Probably some adjustments of time zone will fix the problem.
