Is the Optimizer sends all strategies to the Collection

The Optimizer acts in different way according to an option in the “Optimizer settings” tab: “Add the optimized strategies to the Collection”

The option is switched off by default. In that case, the Optimizer keeps the optimized strategies locally. You can make it added to the collection by visiting the “Editor” page.

If the Option is turned on, all optimized strategies, including the intemediate results wil be added in the Collection.

We called the optimized strategies similar to each other because they differ only by the values of the numerical parameters of the indicators. Such strategies may trade in a similar way on the market and it may compromise the diversification of our trading portfolio.

EA Studio is capable to detect such cases because it has a Correlation analysis module. There is a separate option in the Settings → Correlation analysis: “Detect strategies with similar trading rules”.

When it is on, the collection will check all strategies and, if it detects a correlation, it will leave only the strategy with the highest Profit.
