Data Horizon

By default, the complete historical data series will be used for backtesting.

The Data Horizon tool allows you to limit the period of backtesting data.

Options

Data Horizon options

Max data bars – this value can vary between 300 and 200,000. This setting does not change the data files. The program will load the files' data and cut the bars using the settings below.

Max data length - set the desired length of the loaded data. You can use a number of units as “Days”, Weeks“, “Months” and “Years”. The program considers a month to be 30 days and a year to be 365 days. It does not take into account the leap years so far.

Min start date — change this option to select the date the backtesting data should start. There must be a minimum of 300 bars between the Start and the End Dates.

Max end date – the end of the used data period.

Timezone — you can select a custom timezone. The program will convert the data if you do.

You can easily chack if the data is in the correct timezone. Do it by comparing the Indicator chart of the application with your MetaTrader's chart.
