Originally I thought it was a button that generates ex4 files from the input strategy - but having a random selector is quite an interesting idea !

The Generator generates new strategies every time you start it.
If you don't want a new generated strategy, don't use it.

If you want to improve your current strategy by adding additional indicators to it, you can use the generator. You have to lock some slots from the original strategy to keep them unchanged.

Thanks for your reply - but why does the software actually change the strategy midstream while it's converting?

eg: my strategy = SMA cross + Gator oscillator

then while it is generating, the strategy changes to some other strategy on the screen window. After the generator has finished, the account/equity results are much different to what i originally saw in realtime designing my strategy.

I then try to generate my strategy again, giving me different results again!

could this be a bug ?

(I am running Win XP pro with your latest version of your software)

I would like to ask about the Generator button - what does it actually generate, and why does my strategy 'change' while it is 'generating' whatever it is suppose to be generating?
