If compilation error is really happening on your system - open your EA in Metaeditor and hit the Compile button on the upper toolbar and see whether you get errors or not. If there are no errors and ex4 is created, there should be no obstacles in attaching your EA on chart. Make sure you are logged in to metatrader.
Another point - look for errors in meta journal.
