Strategies generated by FSB v2.8x with or without custom indicators are 100% compatible with FST.
FST still uses the old format of the indicators, but the signals are the same.
The difference in indicators do not affect the strategies.

You can use FSB v2.8x with the new format of the custom indicators and FST with the old format of the same indicators and they will work at exactly the same way.

Actually I'll convert FST also to use the new format very soon, but it also will not change the trading behavior.

Are strategies without custom indicators generated by the FSB 2.8x still compatible with the current release of FST?

FSB Updated to v2.81.2 Beta.

Custom indicators compiler was set to version "3.5". It will allow using of newest C# features as "var" keyword, implicitly typed arrays, object and collection initialization...
