It sets a deviation in %. The lower the number, the more linear is the balance line.

Play with the settings to find a number that works for you.

Often I see it go sorta flat in OOS and I usually accept if it is flat or upwards.

I 'think' the validation applies the acceptance criteria in each step it is indicated, I do not think there is anything that says the OOS has to be what we want.
