Topic: Time zone

Hi!

Can you please help me with the timezone understandnig.

If I use default data source, so what it's timing comparing to Moscow? (or CET)

For instance, I use terminal, which has MSK time (+4 CET), and I know, that London exchange starts at 10 a.m. MSK.
But whta time it starts if I use FSB data?

Re: Time zone

The downloaded FSB Demo Data is from GMT time zone.

I'm using the website http://time.is and see that Moscow is GMT +3:00 now. Therefore, there is 3:00 hours difference between the demo data and your local time.

The time zone is important if you use data period higher than H1 or if you use any of the time indicators.

Re: Time zone

Oh, you're right, thank you!

That means if I test entry hour lets say at 8 a.m. in FSB, than I should use +3 (11 a.m.) in my terminal, right?

It depends on what exactly you want to do.

FSB always uses the time from the data files. The program never uses your local time.

So, if you want to open at 08:00 related to the data series, you have to set 08:00.

If you use the demo data, but want to trade later on a broker that uses Moscow time, then you have to set 05:00 (8:00 - 3h) in FSB.
